Getting There
The Faulconbridge Ridge Trail begins at the end of Grose Road in Faulconbridge.
To get there, turn off the Great Western Highway onto Grose Road and follow it all the way to the end, where a small car park is available.
The final few hundred metres of Grose Road, after the intersection with Jennings Road, are unsealed. The surface is generally in good condition though, so a 4WD vehicle is not necessary.
Below is a map of the walk.

Track Notes
The walk to this isolated lookout is not difficult, but at 6.5 kilometres it is on the longer side. Most of the route follows a fire trail, which some people may find a bit monotonous.
However, if you enjoy a decent hike or a mountain bike ride as a way to get some exercise, you will probably find this track quite enjoyable. Keep in mind that it is a shared path, so be aware of cyclists who may be riding past.
The Trail
After parking your car, walk towards the locked gate that marks the start of the Faulconbridge Ridge Trail.
To the left of the gate is a convenient access point for walkers and bike riders to get onto the fire trail.

The track is gently undulating, with a mix of mild climbs and descents, but it is not a particularly difficult walk or ride.
Along the way, the scenery is pleasant, with tall trees lining both sides of the path and plenty of birdlife adding to the atmosphere.

Near the end of the trail, a short, narrow path leads to a large rocky platform that serves as the lookout.
The Lookout
As you arrive at the lookout, you will see a warning sign reminding visitors to take care near the cliff edge and to keep children close. It is a sensible reminder because the viewing platform is unfenced and the drop is quite steep.

Faulconbridge Point looks out over the Grose River, a 54 kilometre perennial stream that rises in Mount Victoria, flows through the Grose Valley, and eventually joins the Hawkesbury River west of Agnes Banks.
Both the river and the valley were named after Francis Grose, a British Army officer who served as Lieutenant Governor of New South Wales from 1792 to 1794.

The lookout is a great spot for a quiet picnic, with plenty of space to sit down and take in the views for a while.

When you are ready to head back, simply follow the same trail to the car park. The return walk often feels quicker than the hike out to the lookout.
