The Blue Mountains region of New South Wales is home to a mix of towns and villages spread along the Great Western Highway and the Bells Line of Road.
Each place has its own history, character, and connection to the surrounding bushland. Some towns are well-known tourist hubs with busy centres and plenty of facilities and attractions. Others are quieter and more low-key, with limited services and facilities.
Most of the towns are located along the train line and highway between Emu Plains and Lithgow, making them easy to reach for both locals and visitors. Katoomba is the largest and most popular, known for Echo Point and the Three Sisters. Nearby towns like Leura, Wentworth Falls, and Blackheath also attract plenty of visitors.
Below is a map and a list of all towns and villages that fall within the Blue Mountains City Council area. For some of them, you can click through to read more.
