Wentworth Falls

Wentworth Falls is a small town in the Blue Mountains, about 95 kilometres west of Sydney. It’s best known for its namesake waterfall, a 187-metre-high, three-tiered cascade that drops into the Jamison Valley. The town sits along the Great Western Highway and is easy to reach by car or train, with a railway station offering a direct link to Sydney.

Bushwalking

The town has a mix of residential streets, cafés, and small shops, but its main appeal is the access it provides to some of the best bushwalking tracks and lookouts in the Blue Mountains. The Wentworth Falls Walk offers wonderful views over the valley and connects with several other popular walking trails.

Darwins Walk is an easy, family-friendly trail that follows Jamison Creek to the top of the falls. For something more challenging, the Overcliff Undercliff Track and the Empress Falls Walk take you along clifftops, past waterfalls, and down into the valley.

Wentworth Falls Lake

Beyond bushwalking, Wentworth Falls Lake is a popular place for picnics and short strolls. Originally built as a water supply dam, the lake is now a recreational spot with walking paths, playgrounds, birdlife, and open grassy areas.

Stay

While many visit Wentworth Falls on a day trip, the town also has a variety of accommodation options, from guesthouses to holiday rentals. It has a quieter feel than nearby Katoomba, making it a good base for those who want to explore the mountains at a more relaxed pace.
