Jellybean Pool: Swimming and Bushwalking in Glenbrook

Jellybean Pool is one of the most popular swimming spots in the Blue Mountains, located along Glenbrook Creek in the Glenbrook area.

The pool is easy to reach, with a dedicated parking area just 100 metres away, though you can also take a longer bushwalk to get there.

With several other walks and lookouts nearby, a trip to Jellybean Pool can easily become a full day out in the Lower Blue Mountains.

Getting There

From the Great Western Highway, turn onto Ross Street in Glenbrook and enter Blue Mountains National Park via Euroka Road and Bruce Road.

Follow The Oaks Trail and Jellybean Road to reach the pool’s car park, located about 100 metres from the water. An overflow area is available on busy days.

For a short walk, park at the national park entrance and take the Jellybean Track, a 500-metre trail that leads to the pool. Both parking areas are shown on the map below.

Parking costs $8 per vehicle per day unless you have an annual pass. Payment can be made at the entry booth, a pay machine, or through the Park’nPay app.

Public transport isn’t very convenient, with the closest option being Glenbrook Station, about 2 km away.

If you plan to go into the water, keep in mind that swimming in natural waterholes carries risks. Avoid jumping in, as rocks may be hidden beneath the surface, and always keep an eye on children.

Jellybean Pool is especially popular in summer, so to enjoy it with fewer people around, aim to visit early in the morning or on a weekday outside school holidays.

For a quieter swim experience, head over to the Blue Pool, another beautiful swimming spot on Glenbrook Creek not too far from Jellybean Pool.

Jellybean Track

If you’d like a short bushwalk before reaching the pool, the Jellybean Track is a good option. This 500-metre trail starts at the southern end of the main car park at the national park entrance, marked by a large signpost.

The track is well-maintained and easy to follow, though it is fairly steep in parts and includes many steps. It also crosses the road a few times, so take care at those points, even though pedestrians have right of way at the marked crossings.
