Getting There
Lincoln’s Rock is located on Little Switzerland Drive, at the end of Hordern Road in Wentworth Falls. A purpose-built car park sits about 300 metres from the lookout.
The drive is straightforward. From the Great Western Highway, turn onto Tableland Road. After 2 km, turn right onto Hordern Road and follow it to the end.
There are no bus stops nearby, so public transport isn’t a practical option. However, the Little Switzerland Trail provides quick access to and from the popular waterfall area, taking around 30 minutes on foot.

About Lincoln’s Rock
Once you’ve parked, follow the short 300-metre trail to the lookout. The path isn’t paved, so it’s not wheelchair-accessible.

Lincoln’s Rock is named in honour of Lincoln Hall, a mountaineer who lived in Wentworth Falls before he passed away in 2012.
On 25 May 2006, Lincoln Hall was left for dead on Mount Everest at an altitude of 8,700 metres. Remarkably, the following day, he was found alive by a team making a summit attempt and was rescued.

Before it was officially named in 2012, the lookout was often referred to as Flat Rock, Honeymoon Rock, or Wedding Rock.
Interestingly, it was after the name change and the rise of social media that Lincoln’s Rock became a popular and busy tourist attraction.

Lincoln’s Rock is essentially a large, flat rocky area where visitors can walk around and take in the views of the Jamison Valley.
There are plenty of photo opportunities, including a couple of ledges where you can sit and make it appear as though you’re right on the edge of a steep cliff.

At the southern end of the lookout, you’ll see a small bush path leading down to a lower viewing area. Along the way, you’ll pass a large cave with a stone wall before the valley opens up in front of you.

From there, you can climb into a second cave and enjoy Jamison Valley views from inside, with the cave’s entrance perfectly framing the landscape for photos.
