Getting There
The trailhead for Nepean Lookout is located in a remote part of the Glenbrook area in the Blue Mountains, but it’s fairly easy to reach by car.
From the Great Western Highway, turn onto Ross Street in Glenbrook and continue into the national park via Euroka Road and Bruce Road.
Once inside the park, follow The Oaks Trail and then Nepean Lookout Trail to the parking area at the start of the walk. The final few kilometres of Nepean Lookout Trail are unsealed, but a 4WD vehicle isn’t necessary.
This parking area also serves the Jack Evans Walking Track, so it’s worth doing both walks on the same day to make the most of the trip.

About Nepean Lookout
Once you’ve parked and are ready to start walking, head to the Nepean Lookout signpost, which shows the lookout is just 500 metres away.

The walk follows an easy management trail. It gently slopes downhill, barely noticeable on the way there, but you’ll feel it a bit more on the return.

At the end of the trail, you’ll reach a spacious, rocky platform on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the Nepean River. The lookout is not fenced, so take care near the edges, especially if you have children with you.

Nepean Lookout sits above the junction where Erskine Creek flows into the Nepean River, although Erskine Creek itself isn’t visible from the lookout.

This section of the river is also known as Fairlight Gorge, with more lookouts on the opposite side, including The Rock Lookout in Mulgoa.
Walks and Lookouts Nearby
