Getting There

Wentworth Falls is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Blue Mountains, so weekends can be quite busy.

There’s plenty of parking at the Wentworth Falls picnic area along Sir H Burrell Drive, which is easily accessible via Falls Road.

If you’re travelling by public transport, take a train to Wentworth Falls Station and follow the 2 km Darwins Walk to the circuit.

Below is a map of the walk from the car park to the waterfall.

Track Notes

The walk from the car park to Weeping Rock is short and easy, making it suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

There are some steps along the way, so it’s not wheelchair-friendly.

1. Start of the Walk

The first section follows the Wentworth Falls Track, which runs parallel to Sir H Burrell Drive before transitioning into a short bushwalk.

Along this stretch, you’ll pass two scenic lookouts:

  • Jamison Lookout
  • Wentworth Falls Lookout

After about 400 metres on the bush track, you’ll reach a junction with the Weeping Rock Circuit. Turn left here to continue to Weeping Rock.

For more details about this first section, read our Wentworth Falls Track article.

2. Weeping Rock

You’ll soon reach another junction with the Charles Darwin Walk (also known as Darwins Walk), where its southern end connects with the Weeping Rock Circuit.

Turn right at this junction, and the path descends a metal staircase beside the waterfall, offering some great photo opportunities.

Weeping Rock is a small but picturesque waterfall on Jamison Creek, just upstream of Wentworth Falls.

What makes this waterfall particularly scenic is the way the water spills over a wide rock overhang before landing on a flat, rocky area where visitors can walk around and take in the view.

3. Fletchers Lookout

From Weeping Rock, the circuit continues south, reconnecting with the Wentworth Falls Track.

You can stay on the main trail to cross the top of Wentworth Falls, but to complete the circuit, turn right to reach Fletchers Lookout.

This short, signposted side trail is well worth the detour, offering superb views of the waterfall and the Jamison Valley.

Once you’ve taken in the scenery, follow the signage to retrace your steps back to the car park.

Otherwise, if you’re up for another short walk, head back to the top of the waterfall and look for the Rocket Point Circuit trailhead.

This track leads to another fantastic vantage point, offering a different perspective from Fletchers Lookout.
