7 Best Lookouts in Wentworth Falls

Wentworth Falls is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Blue Mountains, home to some of the most accessible and impressive lookouts in the region.

Many of these vantage points sit right on the edge of the cliff line, offering sweeping views across the Jamison Valley and the famous waterfall. Some are just a short walk from the car park, while others are reached via popular walking tracks.

Below are seven of the most beautiful lookouts in Wentworth Falls, each offering a slightly different perspective on this part of the mountains.

1. Jamison Lookout

Jamison Lookout sits right beside the Wentworth Falls car park on Sir H Burrell Drive, making it one of the easiest lookouts in the area to visit.

While this lookout does not offer views of the famous waterfall, it more than makes up for it with wide views across the Jamison Valley. On a clear day, you can pick out several well-known landmarks, including Lincoln’s Rock, Mount Solitary, Ruined Castle, and Sublime Point Lookout.

Jamison Lookout is the first official vantage point along the Wentworth Falls Walk, a short trail that leads to the top of the waterfall.

Similar to Jamison Lookout, the official Wentworth Falls Lookout offers panoramic views across the Jamison Valley.

The lookout is easily accessed via the walking path along Sir H Burrell Drive and is the first major lookout in the area to offer glimpses of the waterfall. Despite its name, however, it is not the best spot to see the falls.

From the lookout, the main walking track, the Wentworth Falls Walk, continues into the bush towards Fletchers Lookout (see below), a quieter lookout that provides far better views of the waterfall.

Princes Rock Lookout is one of the better lookout points in the Wentworth Falls area for viewing the waterfall.

The easiest way to reach the lookout is via the Princes Rock Walking Track, which starts from Sir H Burrell Drive near Wentworth Falls Lookout. From there, it is an easy one-kilometre walk to the lookout.

Alternatively, Princes Rock Lookout is also one of the highlights along the popular Overcliff Undercliff Track, making it easy to include as part of a longer circuit walk.

Fletchers Lookout is a small vantage point that offers excellent views of the upper section of Wentworth Falls, along with wide views across the Jamison Valley.

Often overlooked by visitors, the lookout is signposted as a short side trail off the main Wentworth Falls Walk.

One of the highlights of Fletchers Lookout is its close proximity to the top of the waterfall. When there is plenty of water flowing, both the views and the sound of the falls are especially impressive.

Rocket Point Lookout is a lesser-known vantage point located on the opposite side of the waterfall and is reached via a short walking track.

The walk begins just beyond the stepping stones at the top of Wentworth Falls. While the track is signposted, many visitors tend to miss it, as this lookout is not as well-known as others in the area.

Look for the small Rocket Point Circuit signpost to find the track. Set high on a cliff, the fenced viewing area offers wide views of the waterfall and across the Jamison Valley.

The lookout is easily accessed via Tableland Road and Hordern Road, with a purpose-built car park and a bus drop-off area located a short walk from the viewing area.

For those looking for a longer walk, Lincoln’s Rock can also be reached from Wentworth Falls via a combination of the Rocket Point Lookout Track and the Little Switzerland Trail.
